Warranty, Returns & Cancellations

KDW products are purpose-built for off-road vehicles and made to handle real use. If something fails because of a defect in the product or KDW’s workmanship, we will work with you to make it right.

Please review the following warranty, return, and cancellation terms before placing your order.

KDW Limited Warranty

Warranty coverage begins on the date your order is placed and applies to the original purchaser with proof of purchase.

Housing Warranty — 1 Year

KDW-manufactured chase light housings are covered for one year against defects in materials or workmanship.

Covered housing failures may include:

  • Structural cracking during normal intended use
  • Separation or failure caused by a manufacturing defect
  • Excessive warping that prevents the housing from fitting or functioning correctly
  • Failure of a KDW-installed mounting feature caused by defective workmanship

Light and Electrical Warranty — 6 Months

Lights supplied by KDW are covered for six months against manufacturing defects or premature electrical failure when correctly installed on a properly fused 12-volt electrical system.

This coverage applies to:

  • Amber and white chase-light pods supplied by KDW
  • Brake lights supplied by KDW
  • Wiring and electrical connections completed by KDW

Lights or electrical components supplied by the customer or another company are not covered by KDW.

What KDW Will Do

If a claim is approved, KDW will determine the appropriate solution based on the issue. This may include:

  • Sending a replacement component
  • Repairing the affected product
  • Replacing the affected assembly

Replacement of an individual light or component does not automatically qualify the entire assembly for replacement.

The warranty covers the KDW product or defective component only. Removal, installation, vehicle repairs, downtime, outside labor, and other related expenses are not covered.

What Is Not Covered

The KDW Limited Warranty does not cover damage or failure caused by:

  • Incorrect wiring or reversed polarity
  • Overvoltage, electrical shorts, poor grounds, or missing/improper circuit protection
  • Incorrectly configured switch panels, strobe modules, or other controllers
  • Improper installation or mounting
  • Overtightened hardware
  • Wires left unsecured or routed against heat, sharp edges, or moving parts
  • Impacts, collisions, rollovers, or contact with another object
  • Drilling, cutting, modification, or unauthorized repair
  • Pressure washing, submersion, damaged seals, or improperly installed seals
  • Chemical exposure or the use of harsh cleaning products
  • Normal wear, fading, scratches, or other cosmetic changes
  • Customer-supplied lights, wiring, hardware, or accessories
  • Use outside the product’s intended purpose

Minor variations in texture, layer appearance, or finish may occur with manufactured parts and are not considered defects when they do not affect fitment, strength, or operation.

Making a Warranty Claim

Before removing, modifying, or returning the product, contact KDW through the website contact form or through KDW's Instagram page.

Please include:

  • Your name and order number
  • The vehicle year, make, and model
  • A clear description of the problem
  • Photos or video showing the issue
  • Wiring and controller information for electrical claims

Additional troubleshooting information may be requested before a return or replacement is approved. Do not ship anything back without authorization from KDW.

Unless otherwise approved, the customer is responsible for shipping the product to KDW. If the claim is confirmed to be covered, KDW will cover standard shipping of the repaired or replacement product back to the customer.

After-Warranty Support

Coverage ending does not mean support ends.

After the one-year housing warranty or six-month light warranty expires, replacement parts and repair services may still be available for a fee. Pricing will depend on the parts, labor, and shipping required and will be provided before work begins.

Returns

Standard products may be returned within 14 calendar days of delivery if they are:

  • Unused
  • Uninstalled
  • Unwired
  • Unmodified
  • In their original condition
  • Returned with all included parts and packaging

All returns require approval from KDW before being shipped.

Approved returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee. Original shipping charges are non-refundable, and the customer is responsible for return shipping unless the return is the result of a KDW error or confirmed defect.

Refunds will be issued to the original payment method after the returned product has been received and inspected.

Products that have been installed, wired, used, modified, damaged, or returned with missing components are not eligible for a standard return.

Custom and Special-Order Products

Custom-designed, personalized, modified, or customer-specific products are final sale once completed as ordered.

This may include custom fitments, custom configurations, special modifications, and customer-specific pre-wiring. Defective custom products remain eligible for applicable warranty coverage.

Cancellations

Orders may be canceled for a full refund within 48 hours of being placed.

After 48 hours, materials may have been ordered and production may have already started. Cancellation requests made after this period may be denied or subject to a 15% cancellation fee.

Custom or special-order products cannot be canceled after production has begun.

Orders that have already shipped cannot be canceled. An eligible standard product may instead be returned under the return policy after it is delivered.

Shipping Damage or Incorrect Orders

Inspect your order as soon as it arrives.

If the package arrives damaged, an item is missing, or KDW sent the incorrect product, contact KDW as soon as possible with your order number and clear photos of the packaging and product.

Do not install, wire, or modify an incorrect or shipping-damaged product before contacting KDW.

Fitment and Installation Responsibility

The customer is responsible for ordering the correct product for the vehicle’s year, make, model, and factory configuration, including any camera or antenna options.

KDW chase lights normally require vehicle-side wiring and are not automatically plug-and-play. Even pre-wired assemblies still require correct final connections to the vehicle and control system.

The installer is responsible for verifying polarity, using proper circuit protection, securing all wiring, creating clean grounds, and testing every function before final installation.

KDW chase lights and strobe functions are intended for off-road use only. The customer and installer are responsible for proper installation, safe operation, and compliance with applicable laws.

Questions?

If you are unsure whether an issue qualifies for warranty coverage or whether a product can be returned, contact KDW before shipping anything back. We will review the situation and explain the available options.

This policy does not limit any rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
